After I uninstalled VMware vCenter Converter Standalone client from windows 7 x64 os, I still found “___VMware_Conv_SA___” account in the user list of "local users and groups" of "computer management" , whether i may delete this account from this uset list? whether other services still use this account? Thanks in advances.

This account is used for communication between Converter's services.
Once you finished with conversion and/or deinstall Converter, it's OK to delete account.

So in the list of destination VMs to create it has Workstation 11 and Player 8. What does one choose for Workstation Player 12 which is not listed??

Hi All,
i am in the midst of p-v and have some issue obtaining hw info. I belive its realted to converter version.
I am looking for version 5.1 everywhere and unable to get one.
If anyone have converter standalone 5.1 version , Kindly share. (maybe dropbox?)

As you have already noticed, synchronization doesn't work with file level cloning mode; it requires block level.
Synchronization uses a driver that tracks the writes on the source (called bitmap driver) and VSS snapshots. During synchronization the full cloning of the volumes has two parts: first a plain full cloning takes place, then the bitmap drivers starts tracking, then a VSS snapshot is taken, and an incremental cloning is done from that snapshot (in order to guarantee data consistency). This is "InitialSyncCatchUpTask" you see in the log.
It is possible that the NFS share has somehow interfered with the normal working of the bitmap driver (this has never been tested if I am not mistaken).
Please upload the agent logs from the source machine, there might be some hints there. They are in "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\VMware\VMware vCenter Converter Standalone Agent\logs".

i have created the support ticket and they gave up already. Said converter wont support raid disks.

physical server - win2003r2 ent
The disks are san disks and some are configured into striped mode in os.
however,I have similar server setup but have no issue on that server.
But that particular server hardware cant be detected.weird.

Yes but Workstation and Player used to be 2 separate products. So in the Converter VM destination types it lists Workstation 11 and Player 8 as the latest.
Now it is called `Workstation PLAYER 12`. So would the correct VM type be Workstation OR Player??

i have tried version 5.0 5.5 and 6.0
with 5.5 and 6.0 i have the same error when detecting hardware info. ( power-on machine, input target credential , deploy agent ,error )
with 5.0, i pass that stage and obviously hit error when loging to vcenter because its 5.0 ( power-on machine, input target credential , deploy agent , input vcenter credential , UI hang)
thats why if i can get 5.1 i belive it may work. slim chance.

vstor2 - Virtual storage driver which is installed by converter. Here it is either missing or it is failing to start.
Can you try this quick workaround and check if it works?
Can you try a repair of the vCenter converter installation and see if it replaces or installs the vstor2 driver? Or a re-installation of the converter software.
