Hi,
I have a number of Windows 2012 servers that I have converted from Microsoft Hyper V to VMware ESX.
There is something strange going on with boot up. If I set the "Guest Operating System" to "Microsoft Windows Server 2012 (64-bit)" in the server definition then the servers wont boot. It gets to the graphical part of the boot process but does not progress any further.
If I change it to "Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 (64 bit)" the server will boot and appears to run fine. I am concerned about any possible side effects of doing this.
Our Environment is is ESXi 5.0.0
Our data center standard is that disks must be "Thin Provisioned" and "SCSII" so this is the way I have set them up. If I set up the disks as IDE instead of SCSII the server will boot fine. The standards team won't allow IDE so this is not an option.
All conversion work has been done with VMware converter 5.5.2..
Any help would be gratefully received,
Thanks
Will
