Hi, I'm getting the following error when trying to do a p2v conversion. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

I have been attempting to P2V a server into our vSphere 5.5 environment and keep running into an issue at the very last minute.. It clones all of the volumes and then starts its final snapshot, and fails with the following messages.
Converter Error:
"An error occurred while taking a snapshot: The parent virtual disk has been modified since the child was created. The content ID of the parent virtual disk does not match the corresponding parent content ID in the child."
vSphere Error:
CID_MISMATCH
Once it fails, it ends the P2V job and then deletes the VM.
This is part of a big migration project to virtualize all of our remaining physical server. We have successfully P2V'd the first few and have a few more to do.
VMware converter does not support the Ubuntu 18.04 OS.

You can try if you feel confident enough in Ubuntu configuration.
First you need to get the destination VM not getting deleted. Open for converter-worker.xml file (found in %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\VMware\VMware vCenter Converter Standalone\) and look for powerOffHelperVm. Set it to 'false' and restart worker service (VMware vCenter Converter Standalone Worker).
Once you have the target VM, attach to it and boot from a live CD, preferably the Ubuntu installation CD.

As per the latest version on converter it does not support the Ubuntu 18.04,
Maybe there are processes running that "touch" the parent virtual disk before the P2V is finished? KB article: VMware Knowledge Base

I would like to know what the heck am I doing wrong:
I have a windows 2008 R2 enterprise in Hyper-v that I would like to convert to a VMware Virtual server.
I have tried to do the standalone converter install on the source machine and all is cool but the virtual machine created in Vcenter require to be fix using windows Installation disk, so it does not boot up.
Has anyone here been lucky converting 2008 r2 ent. to vm server that converter correctly?

We are virtualising a Win 2011 SP1 server using VMware vCenter Converter Standalone - running locally on the server.
We encounter @ 3% complete.
The error code is FAILED: Unable to create a VSS snapshot of the source volume(s). Error code:
259 (0x00000103).
Can anyone advise on what might be causing the error\how to resolve?

The last version of Converter to support Windows 2000 was version 4.0, and even then it required SP4 be installed. Regardless, I think you're going to need SP4 anyhow.
Sorry, the source server is a Windows SBS Server 2011 SP1.

The information you shared is insufficient, please attach log bundle.
Seems that snapshot creations take too long time ( > 5min)
Try again, after worker service restart, or to limit number of active snapshots via vssadmin command, or to exclude some disk(s) from conversion.
