You must use ghost or Acronis and restore the image to a newly created VM
same procedure you would use to clone disks in a real metal scneario
create the new VM with IDE disks - boot it into your ghost or Acronis CD and restore the image from a network share
on first boot of the VM cross your fingers and have the original setup-CD ready at hand
There are no tools out there that will automate this
