I had the same problem. Hyper-V thought there was a snapshot on the disk, but wasn't able to find it. I was able to verify this by going into the Hyper-V Manager, right clicking on the server, and clicking Settings. I then clicked on the hard drive, and clicked Inspect. I got an error saying that the file didn't exist. I closed the settings window, created a snapshot, and went back in again to the drive, and tried to inspect again. After the snapshot was created, it inspected with no error. I re-tried vmware converter, and it went with no problems after that.
