I followed this advice:
Following POCEH's suggestion, you can convert one machine in several conversions as a workaround.
- Select only a few volumes for the first conversion, including the boot and system ones.
- After this conversion finishes, select the other volumes and convert to another VM. Deselect the 'reconfigure' check box in advanced options.
- After the second conversion finished too, use vSphere client to attach its resulting virtual disks (vmdk files) to the first VM. Remove the second VM but take care not to delete the vmdk files.
... but even after disabling "reconfigure" it still proceeds to configure the machine, leading it to fail the job with the error message: "ERROR: Unable to find the system volume, reconfiguration is not possible."
I won't be able to synchronize as long as the job fails in the end.
Any idea why it tries to reconfigure?
I've attached an error log screenshot.
Edit:
What about adding the C: drive to all the extra VMs I'm creating, would that cause any trouble when putting it all together in the end? I'm guessing that way I'd at least be able to finish the job and synchronize changes?
